I am known as Eletricat because my first boyfriend at the time thought I was very electric. I added T from my fiirst name at the end of the Brazilian word "eletrica" and then started using the email and name for my dance. I love reading about Egyptian mythology and so, soon I learnt that the Egyptian Cat Goddess is the queen of dance and the night. I thought this was most appropriate and continued enjoying and using my nickname.

I was born in the north-east of Brazil. I loved dancing in my bedroom for hours (mainly to Madonna and Michael Jackson's songs lol) and organising events like theatre shows and catwalk shows in my neighbourhood! My father loved sports so I had a very fortunate active childhood swimming, playing tennis, volleyball and dancing, gymnastics (my favourite), but best of all were the weekend parties!! I have been dancing all my life. In Brazil dance is part of your everyday! You feel it and enjoy it with everyone! Music and dance is one. Brazilians love to party and we would usually spend the weekends at our weekend house in a "condominio" together with 20 other houses and families enjoying the pool, sauna, dancing lambada in the party hall. But, sometimes I would spend it at my friends farmhouse horse ridding in the forest, playing cards and bathing in the rivers, or at my neighbour's weekend house by the beach, swimming, eating brabs and prawns, and dancing samba.

In 1991, out of 3 options (England, the US and Scotland), I moved with my family to Glasgow as my father was very excited by the landscape, whisky and highland dancing! (my father LOVES to dance and is the most energetic man I have ever known!). The culture shock was quite something, specially the weather! lol... but there I was and soon I fell in love with my dancing life and ALL my dance students! Glasgow's opportunities and incredible friends turned Scotland into my home, a very special place indeed! <3

In 1997, just before I started studying Architecture at the University of Strathclyde, I asked my father to help me as I wanted to start teaching dance. I used to spend 4 hours in my bedroom dancing like MAD! I still missed my friends, the parties and Brazilian vibe!! I really wanted everyone to understand and get to know this energy that moves people in Brazil, what we call "Axe!". While I danced in my bedroom, my mind would open up and start imagining and creating...I had my whole dance fitness class planned in my head and body!

I started teaching in a small tennis club in the west end of Glasgow, called Dowanhill Tennis Club, which my father was a member at the time. Classes quickly got sooooo busy!! It was quite a mix of different people, mainly there to get energised!

Classes developed as I learnt more and more styles and techniques. Twice a year I would go to Brazil to attend classes at various dance schools including Ballroom Dance Schools, traditional folklore dance schools, Maracatu schools, contemporary dance with the famous Marcelo Pareira & Yoga classes! I continued to develop my idea of a holistic complete dance fitness workout class. I'm so happy to say that my dance has changed my body and energy to better! I feel good & healthy, my body looks good (I have seen the changes over the years) and classes always electrifying & original. I believe this is not only due to the fact that I simply love my DANCE and teaching, but also due to my continual crave for feeling, understanding (learning), developing (improving), challenging myself, creating and sharing. My choreographies always have to be new, different and fun! It keeps it all fresh while my class formula/ structure (now I call it ritual) helps to keep the body rooted, comfortable while also working on the body as a whole. My dance class structure aims to help everyone relax and in an order that promotes a complete holistic workout! It really makes my body feel electrifying and so my students also tell me!

But I also believe I have accepted a gift from GOD. My DANCE is my life and keeps me going even when I'm feeling down! This is real LOVE and I shall share this with people everywhere always! It brings happiness to me and to everyone around me... joy, freedom, Amor & Axe! (Love & Positive Energy!).

In 2014 I went on to challenge myself and studied HND Dance Performance at Kelvin College.

Biography 2024

​Olá!! Thought I needed to update my bio page!

I journey through this "present" life by daily directing all my energy to keeping the balance, while hopefully also inspiring and strengthening others as I evolve and grow through my love and passion in my creative art & rhythm.When I was still very little, like 6 yrs old, I felt like a true Amazon warrior, I wanted to live in the forrests, and I strongly wanted to make a difference to this planet by fighting evil, and protecting all life for more justice and balance! So, around the age 13, when I realised killing myself in a forrest war in Brazil might not actually be a solution and make a change to the messed up cycle, I chose the medium dance, music, the arts and entertainment, which was what I felt in my heart I could do best and was passionate about, to reach out to all souls and spread positive energy, even if it meant one soul at a time! It really feels like planting seeds of Amor & Axé ~ Love & Positive Energy.

At the age of 17 I told my dad I wanted to teach my dance classes, with his encouragement and enthusiasm he very excitedly talked to everyone at his tennis club who let me the space to teach. Very quickly I went from 5 to 15 students and realised that experience was not what mattered, but my positive energy! These were such fun classes! I still have lots of visual memories of all of us in circle jumping smiling. The power of happiness!

While teaching I went on to get a Degree in Architecture and studied HND dance at college in Glalgow. I attended various teaching methodology courses too while on my many trips to Brazil teaching English at schools where I also took many of my students on tours.
I started in the music club scene with a little help from my dear friend Duncan Kane , salsa dj at the time and Farah Portela who got me a dj slot at glasgow's then first latin bar. I started also teaching at those venues & performing.

My adult dance classes are a holistic blend of Afro-Brazilian, Latin and other African rooted dances with Fitness, Yoga and Meditation promoting the complete electrictrifying experience!

From when I started teaching at age 17, my dance class has evolved a lot, but kept the main focus which is to promote a complete holistic experience! Today, basically through these dances and the awareness of the Afro-Brazilian Goddess Archetypes (Energies refflected in nature) I try help especially women strengthen their roots, find balance from the centre of their bodies, liberate negative energy that is trapped, tap into their own inner healing power to cleanse themselves and promote an overall sensation of happiness and freedom.

I also teach kids and adults in my unique Girassol Method blending freestyle expressive dance, Capoeira, Music, Yoga & Meditation.
I have more that 15 yrs experience educating kids (www.wingson.me) through the arts and for 5 yrs I was directing the movement part of the project Cool School at primary schools across all of Perth & Kinross where I performed on stage alongside renowned musician Nana Vasconcelos and Ronnie Goodman.

My dancers and I have performed my choreographed dance shows at various events & festivals across the UK, Melas, including Glastonbury Festival for more than 6 yrs consecutevely, hen parties, Weddings too!

At age 14 my first ever dance performance was with my dear friends from MacUmba band at Stirling Castle! I went on to perform with them across the uk and Europe - Madeira island, Portugal, France, Italy, Germany various times. Around same time I also started to work closely with the talented Ronnie Goodman and his band Rhythm Wave with whom I had so much fun performing together at various festivals including Glastonbury for many years consecutevely! I got as far as Russia with the cool respected brothers DJ Tigerstyle for the UK Flavours Festival and was on one of their music videos.

I DJ a huge eclectic selection of Brazilian music from old to new. My culturally rich live arts club night called Eletrica't CARNAVAL NIGHTS in Glasgow got to attract around 600 people through the door monthly and we managed to raise more than 2k money which I donated to kid's charities across Brazil.

Recently, 11/2023, I concluded my newest project: ∆§†π∆|★9 FILM - A Devotional Dance Journey by Eletricat in Fuerteventura.

Dedicated to the Light of Creation & all Warriors of Light and channeled by nature! ∆§†π∆|★9 ~ is a 37.09 min Dance Film that will take you on a deeply moving journey of the complete cycle of life portrayed by my embodiment of the major Afro-Brazilian & Egyptian Goddesses looks & dances and the nature of the woman body in motion & union with music and the unique exotic natural environment of Fuerteventura! Filmed & edited by the talented eye of the videographer together with the choreographed movements and ideas by me, I hope it will promote an enlighting, conscious & completly electrifying astral magical experience of pure courage & self-love through the union of art, creativity and rhythm in motion.
